Mother-Daughter Trip To Paris & 10 Reasons Why You Would Fall In Love

Hey guys! Can you believe it's August already?! I really need for summer to slow down a little because I'm not ready for sweater weather. Anyway, a few weeks ago I went on a mother-daughter trip to France with my best friend and her mom. Paris was a place my mama always dreamed of visiting and I figured this would be the perfect place to share this experience with her. It was an incredible feeling to be able to make this trip happen for my mom and create memories I would never forget. I immersed myself in planning keeping in mind that it was our their first time in Europe; there would be a lot of walking, a language barrier, and MAJOR jetlag.

Planning this trip was really special because I wanted my mother to have an amazing time on this trip. Seeing her smile and face light up when she saw the Eiffel Tower for the first time made it all worthwhile. I’d dreamt about Paris for many years, about the amazing architecture, countless museums, their effortless style, all the coffee and croissants I’d be enjoying for breakfast, and taking in all the major attractions. We had five days to explore the city of lights; here are my reasons why you should visit Paris…

The FOOD!

O.M.G. When in Paris you can never have enough croissants, chocolate éclair, macaroons, fruit tarts, etc. If you have a sweet tooth as bad as mine, be prepared to stop at every other corner! Did I mention I love carbs? The French love their bread; try the breakfast of tartines (baguette slathered with fresh jam and butter). Yes, I had a baguette every day!

Sacre-Coeur

You can walk up the famous Sacre- Coeur stairs (wear comfortable shoes) or take the elevator up to the church. If you aren’t used to walking or taking the stairs you might need to take a break but it’s worth every step. At around 130 meters high you will get one of the BEST views of Paris.

Charming Montmartre

We spent our first day wandering the streets of this charming and authentic neighborhood. Montmartre is known as the “Old Paris”, you can people watch while enjoying a glass of wine at a café, listen to some live music, or have your portrait painted by an artist.

The Eiffel Tower

This iconic building is even more beautiful and breathtaking in person! Our taxi driver dropped us off at the Place du Trocadéro where in my opinion you get the best view of the Eiffel Tower! I couldn’t believe I was standing in front of the Eiffel Tower with my mama; it was truly a pinch-me moment! When you’re done snapping that “instaworthy” picture and ready to actually visit the Eiffel, you can go down the stairs, walk across the bridge, and you’ll find yourself standing in front of this famous monument. You can go up the Eiffel Tower for 17 euros using the lifts or you can also choose the stairs. It's even more magical at night when the tower lights up and sparkles for five whole minutes!!

Champs-Elysées/ Arc de Triomphe

The beautiful tree-lined grand avenue is every fashion girls dream! You will find AMAZING shopping, entertainment, and popular cafes down this street. It’s also a favorite spot for nightlife among the locals- make sure to check out Victoria. At the center you’ll find the world’s largest triumphal arch, Arc de Triomphe (if you have time take a trip to the top).

Pont Alexandre III

It's honestly the most beautiful bridge in the entire city! We walked along the River Seine after enjoying the Eiffel Tower and bumped into this masterpiece. Here you will get another gorgeous view of the Eiffel tower.

The Louvre

This impressive museum is an absolute must see when in Paris. There is so much to cover but of course make sure to visit the Mona Lisa. I suggest you buy your tickets online. It will cut back your time spent waiting in line to enter and allow more time for you to enjoy all the artwork waiting for you inside.

Palace of Versailles-

Can I move in? This stunning Palace of Versailles is a World Heritage Site and was home of French kings. The most celebrated room at Versailles is the Hall of Mirrors, you walk into a sea of chandeliers, and the huge windows give an impressive view of the gardens. Allow yourself at least half a day to take in all it’s beauty, rent a golf cart and get lost in one of the most magnificent gardens in France.

Farmers Market

When in Versailles make sure to check out the open-air markets, found in the center of the market square. The Marche Notre-Dame is where you'll find fresh fish, different cheeses, meats, breads, flowers etc. After shopping here you'll be ready for a picnic!

Laudree

My love affair with Laudree started in NYC. This is were I tasted a macaron for the very first time and the rest is history! I would rave to my mom about this place and we had the chance to have lunch while in Paris. She absolutely loved it!

I will never forget this trip because I was able to share it with my mama! It's not easy traveling with a parent (I was the chaperone 😜) but I would do it all over again with her.I would love to hear what you loved about Paris or why you would visit again.
