When In Rome...
Where do I start? I really didn’t know what to expect when my best friend and I set off on our Italian adventure this summer. Our first stop was Roma; a city with a perfect blend of old world and modern time. I absolutely fell in love with this magical city; we spent most of our time getting lost in the cobble stone streets, taking in all the history, diving into the culture, and of course drinking and eating.
As it was our first time in Rome, we didn’t waste any time and spent our days exploring the city. We did a self-guided tour of the Vatican Museum (I suggest you pre purchase tickets) and then headed over to St. Peter’s Square.
The next day, we hopped on the Tubo (Train) and started our day at the Spanish steps, did some shopping (I couldn't help myself), and stopped for some lunch before heading over to Palatine Hill.
Standing in front of the Colosseum was truly a pinch me moment, it's such an incredible piece of history and the perfect way to finish off our day.
On our final day in Rome we visited the DaVinci Museum, which is right next door to the Piazza del Poppolo, where we sat to enjoy some gelato and people watch at the Pincio Garden. Probably the greatest thing about visiting Pincio Garden is the panoramic view of the city from Pincio Terrace, the view is stunning!
If you have time make sure to stop by Trastevere, a charming, hip, and vibrant part of Rome with a bohemian vibe.
Down below I am sharing some tips based off our trip:
Wear comfortable shoes!!
Pack lightly- take a small purse or backpack
Keep hydrated- water bottle is a must or gelato.
Pack lightweight dresses, shorts, tanks, and sunglasses.
