The City of Lights has to be one of my favorite places in the world! But with so much to see and do in Paris, it can feel overwhelming planning a trip that hits all the best spots. Whether you have a day, a week, or a month to explore, here are my top 7 must see!
The Eiffel Tower
It wouldn’t be a trip to Paris without paying a visit to the famous Eiffel Tower. Yes, there is a cost to go up, but it’s incredible to see the city from up above. I totally recommend getting tickets ahead of time to avoid the long lines. If you don’t feel like waiting in line or going to the top, plan a picnic and enjoy it at one of the nearby parks.
Seine River
The Seine is France’s third-longest river, extending 485 miles from Dijon to the English Channel. Enjoy it by taking a cruise on the river past many of the city’s monuments, photograph Paris’s most famous bridge (the Pont Alexandre III), have a drink at one of the bars along the Seine, or have a riverside picnic.
The Louvre
Once a royal palace, the Louvre now houses some of the most iconic pieces of art. With so many exhibits, you’ll want to plan your visit out beforehand. Once you exit the museum make sure to take a stroll along the Tuileries Garden, they are absolutely stunning.
Champs Elysees
The most beautiful and well-known avenue in Paris. It runs between the Arc de Triomphe and the Place de la Concorde and lining the boulevard on either side are beautiful, manicured trees leading up to the Arc de Triomphe. Make sure to pick up some macarons from Laudree so you can enjoy a sweet treat while you walk around.
Arc de Triomphe
The Arc de Triomphe is one of the top tourist attractions in Paris. You can enjoy walking around the base and under the arches of the Arc de Triomphe for free or pay a fee to climb about 280 stairs to the top for lovely views over Paris.
Considered one of the most beautiful palaces in Europe, the Palace of Versailles is a symbol of power and influences. Make sure to explore the beautiful gardens by bike, walking, or rent a golf cart. I would suggest you buy tickets ahead of time, this guarantees you get in within 30 minutes of your time slot.
Montmatre
Perched high above Paris, with a quaint village feel, Montmartre is one of the dreamiest neighborhoods. While wandering around in Montmartre, you will notice the cobbled streets, art influence, and cafés at every turn. One must see is the Sacré-Coeur Basilica, the beautiful la Maison rose, take a coffee break at La Consulat, and make sure to take in all the views.
