The holiday season is in full swing, and there’s so much I look forward to! Hanging out with family, making my fiancé watch Hallmark movies with me, eating way too many Christmas cookies, listening to all my favorite Christmas music, enjoying many delicious lattes while I shop for gifts. I’m usually excited and motivated to workout but with the craziness of the holidays, it can be tricky!

One of the things I struggle with the most is eating healthy during this time. I want to try all the sweet treats and sometimes I can’t walk away. Plus, I would much rather lay on the couch under my cozy blanket, than go out in the cold and sweat it out.

If this is you, you’re not alone! I’m here to share some tips to help you stay on track and motivated during the holiday season:

Early Workout

Yes, I love sleeping in every once in a while but I promise you’ll feel amazing when you’re done! This will make sure that you get your work out done before you start your day, not allowing you to bail later because you are tired or busy.

Eat Healthy At Home

We all want to enjoy the holiday treats and there’s nothing wrong with that. My advice is to keep the sugary snacks out of your house, instead stock your fridge with healthy snacks. Go to the party and enjoy but eat a small meal before you go, so you’re not starving and eating every in sight.

Keep It Interesting

Mix up your workout routine to keep yourself interested! If you are into HIIT classes, take a yoga or cycling class with your sisters, bestie, or BAE.

Pack Your Own Sweet Treats

Okay, so you walk into the break room and the table is full of cookies, brownies, fruitcake, etc. No biggie, you can reach into your lunch bag and have your peanut butter protein balls or a piece of dark chocolate with dried apricots. This helps me so much when I’m trying to cut back on sugary treats.

Wear Your Favorite Workout Gear

Yes, this might sound silly but you are more likely to workout if you are ready to go! Plus, cute workout clothes that I feel great in helps get me motivated and ready to sweat it out! I love Lululemon high-waisted leggings because they suck everything in and you don’t have to constantly pull them up during class.
